It’s not “Just” any toystore..
It’s a magical toy store…
Just last week, I caught Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium on cable. I’ve watched snippets of the show previously and never actually watched the show from beginning to end. Ooh, I wished I had watched it earlier though.

The movie may strike you as a fairytale story about a magical toy store but delve deeper and you will realise the meaning behind it. Well, at least for me it did.
“Your life is an occasion. Rise to it”
That line just resonated through me and it just inspired me. I guess it happened that I just had a emotional spill-out with Di that same evening when I heard that statement.
Somehow, the show teaches you to be positive and to believe that one can create magic when you believe in yourself.
Believe, is it so hard to believe? Confidence, is that difficult to cultivate. Positive thinking, is that hard to conjure.

Who wants to be a millionaire?
So I read an article in Reader Digest about Money Guru Jean Chatzky who wrote about a very simplistic view on the difference between the rich and the poor and that is -
“The wealthy possess traits like optimism, resilience, grit and curiosity as well as habits like reading every day and expressing gratitude.”
One of the things she mentioned in the article was optimism and how it can lead to good things in life and eventually, hopefully leading to greater wealth. So she mentioned that we should all embrace the good things in life – however insignificance – and list down every day (actually 3 days recommended only to see the difference but it may be good habit nonetheless to give thanks to the goodness in life) 5 positive things of the day. So this shall be my mini project going forth – Project Happy Thoughts.
For today, 27 April 2009:
- Received an sms from my sister, who seems to be enjoying herself down under telling me about her plans to go to gold coast .
- Listened to some of my favorite songs on my ipod
- Striked 1.5 items off my to-do list (yay, procrastinator no more)
- Broke my own highscore on bejeweled blitz – 186,800
- Met my workplace’s cute guy in the lift during lunch
She did advocate more things really, but the article was just an excerpt of her book – “Make Money, not Excuses”.
Positive thinking, positive karma.
