Quirky fact #101
For most of my travels, I rely heavily on the friendly travel forum TripAdvisor for the reviews on places to go, things to do and especially on the rankings of recommended hotels. I find it extremely useful looking at travellers’ photos to get a sense of what the hotel looks like rather than surfing the ‘management provided photos’.
As such, to pass it on, I’ve started contributing reviews (slowly but surely and as best to my memory) to the site. I actually find myself liking this writing of reviews on hotels I’ve stayed in and sharing little tips. It feels as if I am helping someone make that informed decision as I have with their help.
Ailurophobia
My fear of cats was put to the test when a cat jumped a height of around 160cm through my corridor window into my house. I was in my brother’s room, popped out when I heard the commotion and my dad’s shriek (manly shriek) and caught a glimspe of a darting black thing. I ran at my father’s warning back into the room, at lightning speed. It was horrifying, the longest 15-20mins of my life! I was stuck in the room and all I could hear was my dad meowing, knocking things, banging a stick.. And then silence. So many thoughts crossed my mind – did the cat attack my dad? Did my dad harm the cat (out of defense, of course)? Called my sister and boyfriend for help.. All they did was laugh at the comedy of it, I was nearly sobbing and literally trembling with fear.
It was all high drama from the time the cat managed to jump through the windows, squeezing itself through the grills, running around crazed in the house, dad chasing it around, cat attempting suicide at the kitchen window, dad rescuing it, cat running out of the house and back in, into my room, out of my room, into the kitchen toilet and finally into the arms of it’s owner.
It’s hilarious laughing at the comedy of the situation and how bizarre it was that a cat could jump through our window but my fear is so real, even now thinking about it sends shivers through my body. Scary max!

(wanted to put a picture of a black/white persian cat but still pretty freaked by them and definitely wouldn’t want it on my blog. This should do )
Wet Weather Gear
Walking fashion disaster – prints and stripes. Heh. A girl got to do what a girl got to do to stay dry
Cheat
Look who cheated and used her picture from 5 years ago — I am so glad I don’t have to use the ah-soh looking one
Cheating, no?
Stupiak Post
Haha, caught an episode of the noose with the BF the other day and they coined this term – stupid plus piak (slap) which makes “stupiak” – I found it super hilarious!
Anyway, as I mentioned, I have better things to do and that means… taking stupiak pictures of myself – cause I am that bored. Wahaha..
More
- More and more people have commented on how tired I look and that is with make-up on! I had a good look at myself the other day and I have to concur with them. Man, I do look tired! I really have to hand it to ageing – how fast it works its “magic” on my once supple skin once I hit the ripe age of 26. It could be the late nights (up playing games on Facebook or watching my drama serials) but I sure can feel the difference as age caught up.
- The 4 days without the BF passed so quickly! I hardly missed him at all! Gasp! Luckily, I had quite a packed schedule myself and didn’t have much time to be alone to moan or think about him. Heh. Or perhaps, I have been trained (hard) by him since he basically leaves me alone most of the days while he is working.
- Facebook is getting boring what with all that World Cup gibberish non-soccer fans are sprouting. And I just bet with my dad that Lionel Messi is from Spain. =_= Trusty Mr Google says he is Argentinean (is there such a word?). Darn.
- I need a new laptop. This old hand-me-down lappie from the BF’s mom only satisfies my basic needs but what with getting down to serious business (literally?) I really need a good laptop. Or at least one with Microsoft Office installed =( I need to catch the market (not the wet one, duh!) while it is heating up!
- Just cause I don’t like to end on 4, here’s one last bit. Last Bit.
Shortfart’s Fashion Philosophy
“Walk out of your house in that outfit – Only if you can imagine meeting an old school pal from ions ago dressed in that”
It is going to be a good year
If what Carrie Bradshaw said was true, I think I’m done for the year. It will be a good year.
It has got to be the single most embarrassing thing. Even till now, I think none of us can stop laughing about the incident. It is so going to be the butt of all jokes. Hehe.
